Lady Gaga’s Circle Contact Lens Trend-Lady Gaga’s popularity has influenced young people around the world. Now fans are literally going gaga trying to copy the look, importing special ‘Circle’ contact lenses from Asia.

Her buggy eyes on “Bad Romance” video have reportedly set off a trend among teenagers who seek to stretch their eyes to cartoonish sizes.

Reportedly, Lady Gaga did not wear contacts for her appearance on her music video. The eye-popping effect was generated by a computer.

The doctor warns, that the cartoon-like craze inspired by “Bad Romance” poses risk to eyes condition. The Food and Drug Administration has not approved the wearing of circle contact lenses that give the appearance of wider eyes. FDA spokeswoman contested that Consumers risk significant eye injuries, even blindness when they buy contact lenses without a valid prescription or help from an eye professional.”

Here are other risks associated with the improper use of decorative contact lenses: conjunctivitis (swelling or infection of the membrane lining the eyelids), swelling, allergic reaction and corneal abrasion due to poor lens fit, and vision impairments.
