BP Oil Spill Live Feed Update: BP Goes to LMRP Oil Spill Solution Method

Written by on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

The Gulf Coast Oil Spill is getting larger and larger everyday as the oil leak is continuously gushing out large amount of oil into the ocean. Numerous attempts have been tried by BP to contain this oil spill but these oil spill containment solutions were no match to the pressure that the broken pipe is emitting.

During the past several weeks, BP used different oil spill containment methods composed of boom oil spill equipments commonly used in small oil spills, a four-storey huge containment dome, and BP Top Kill Procedure which involves tons of special muds to be used in sealing the borken oil pipes. They even had a joint partnership with the research project of actor Kevin Costner which initiated an oil separator machine composed of different centrifugal machines used to separate oil from water. However, all of these oil spill solutions were useless to the almighty oil spill.

Having said that, BP devised another oil spill containment plan. It is called LMRP or Lower Marine Riser Package. This new BP oil spill solution involves channeling of the oil leak from a nearby Discoverer Enterprise drillship out to the ocean. While it may sound pretty easy, this is not an easy task as once again BP will have to combat the pressure of the oil leak. In addition, the depth of the oil spill will add to the burden as such operations was never tried before in depths of 5,000 feet deep.

Currently, the LMRP cap is already on site and it is currently anticipated that it will be connected in about four days. We hope that this will be the final oil spill containment solution that will finally end the BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Meanwhile, if you want to witness the BP oil spill live feed, we have it HERE.

  1. Greenlife Technology, has a environmentally safe crude oil cleaner with all its rrequired laboratory testings and they state that it poses NO threat to human, marine or aquatic life. New technology of dispersant not toxic and unknown like what they are poisoning the gulf with now, would work good in conjunction with Costner’s water cleaner. Their formulation hinders oils ability to bond to anything making cleanup quick and easy….. Google, gltworld.com for contact info

  2. What is the latest on Kevin Costner’s attempt to assist with his equipment? I am unable to find any news organization offering information on this matter. Rumors are that BP is not allowing Mr. Costner to go forward. Why does Mr. Costner need anyone’s permission?

  3. Tracy Farbstein says:

Why didn’t Kevin Costner’s machines work?

  4. what the hell are these idiots doing, they are letting this thing get so out of control that the entire world is going to wind up paying the price because of a couple of @#$%^ beaurocrats!!! that don’t wanna get off their lazy asses! what the hell is the wildlife supposed to do about this, they let this crap happen were the majority of north american birds migrate too!! i cannot believe the ignorance of the obama admin and its people, they are a waste of useful oxygen, these pple should be all held accountable for what they have done, this should include JAil time as the amount of animals that will die is a crime against humane preservation itself!!!, they have no regard for anyone but themselves or anything that does not directlky affect them, Using this Logic is wrong and irresponsible, I hope the pple realize that they are only being lied to about this. It saddens mne deeply that all the work conservationist do all year long can and will be ove turned by a bunchof beaurocrats that have their wallets interest at mind and nothing else!!

  5. i wish i could be optimistic, but it seems the only ‘hope’ is the secondary relief wells…

by the time that remedy is upon us, the gulf of mexico and much of the east coast will be severely damaged.

  6. Fred Psimas says:

Find a water bender and create a whirl pool force the oil back in then freeze the water around it to create a plug.

  7. The real person to blame for the oil problems is Bush. He’s the one who was so gung-ho about oil, filling the administration with oil-supporting politicians and now Obama’s left holding the bag. There are too many politicians supported by the oil industry and now look what’s happened. Look what Bush encouraged. There are PLENTY of viable alternative resources for oil, but that moron had to encourage the oil industry because of his quiet vested interests. He’s the one who didn’t give a shit. He’s the one who valued the money over what was better for the people and the environment. Obama’s had an uphill battle on all fronts ever since he took office thanks to the mess Bush left behind for him. People should be lambasting Bush, not Obama. Obama’s not the one with shares in oil companies.

  8. What will our great grand children think of all our brilliant world leaders?

  9. Cathleen says:

I’m with you Jeff. I can’t believe this is still in BP’s hands!
I don’t think they want to plug that hole unless they can still tap into the oil later. They should not be trusted. It’s crazy.
I think we should get the engineers from Dudai and Abu Dabi that build islands and crazy buildings to come figure this one out.
BP is a joke. A disaster case.
Why aren’t there protesters marching on the white house and screaming. This is killing the planet. Water goes everywhere. All our fish could become poisoned. It could slowly travel around the world. Wait til the hurricanes hit. The disaster is just getting started. When is Obama going to wake up and take charge and take this out of BP’s hands!!!!

I think everyone has the wrong idea about Kevin’s machines and how they work. The main thing his machines do is to suck the oil out of the water. The problem is the spill hole needs to be covered and stopped from running out in the ocean before Kevin can put his machines into the oil filled water. So far no one has been able to stop the oil spill. The news today said there was a big saw that is stuck in the spill hole. Now the saw has to be removed out of the spill hole before trying to stop the leakage. I believe that if they get the leakage stopped that Kevin will then be able to use his machines to get the oil out of the water. The thing we need to do now is pray that there is somebody out there that can stop this oil leakage.

  11. Glendon Smedley says:

    Hi
Instead of filling it full of concrete or grout try something different.
My idea is to take another attempt of filling the pipe, but with Dry Ice. If you try the Dry Ice after you have cut the pipe it might stop the flow of oil long enough for you to cap the oil well.
Hope it works, The oil spill sure looks like a big mess.

  12. someone should tell bp or who ever to make a pressure type bladder value . possibly 2 or 3 in series which could be sent inside the main leaking line, then pressurized so that the leaking would stop for awhile until a real solution is made . stop them from monkey- ing around

  13. I was really surprised that BP did not act sooner. I strongly believe at the beginning they didn’t want to stop the leak. I think that they were waiting for the pressure to decrease so that they could work easier at capping the leak. If they really wanted to stop the leak they could have inserted a sleeve with a pressure locking system that has a valve at the top end. As they close the valve the pressure increases this would lock the two pipes together. This would have saved the ENVIRONMENT of the Gulf. This could have all been done weeks ago instead of sitting on there hands and thinking of other stupid way of clogging a gushing oil well.

  14. well , in the correct hands we trust. every idea isn’t always the wrong one. hey where is the oil shortage. lies exposed!!

  15. Oh there goes the americans….all about oil and greed…who gives a shit about the environment…as long as the americans get what they want……so selfish

  17. I have not understood if they lost their drill string in the hole or if all the drill string was pulled prior to the explosion. If the drill string were not partially in place it seems to me they would have more options.
