BP Top Kill Procedure Failure as Reported by BP Live Feed Update

Written by on Monday, May 31st, 2010

Here’s the latest BY Live Feed Update from BP’s ROV machine. The BP Top Kill Procedure Latest status update as seen in the BP Oil Spill Live Feed indicates another failure to contain the oil spill. BP had called for the suspension of the BP top kill procedure on two occasions, on Thursday and again on Friday. Information says that the pressure of the oil and gas gushing out of the oil leak is too much for the BP top kill procedure to handle.

BP management said Saturday, May 29 that they are hoping that the current situation will be made in their favor and they will soon find the proper angle of attack for the mudding procedure. During the initial press conference of the BP top kill procedure, BP management informed us that the procedure will involved heavy drilling of mud placing it into the oil leak and then when the leak is contained it will be cemented to permanently close it.

The procedure above called BP Top Kill is being feed live via the BP Oil Spill Cam.

BP management said that it will take at least 2 days to finish the Top Kill Procedure, however we are now entering Day 4 and success is still very elusive and the process seems to be struggling. President Barack Obama who missed the US Memorial Day just to concentrate on the BP Oil Leak and see the BP Top Kill procedure calls the oil spill, “assault on our shores.”

Obama also went to Port Fourchon, La. together with LaFourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph, center, and U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen look and look at the booms laid out to collect oil. More than three million cubic feet of boom are already in place, with 100,000 more cubic feet of boom on the way.

BP CEO Hayward says all was going pretty well as planned when asked on national TV on Friday about the top kill procedure. However, the Coast Guard’s Allen said that the next 12 to 18 hours will be critical in judging the BP top kill procedure. This was a turnaround when he previously said that a definitive judgment would be available by Thursday.

The Flow Rate Technical Group already released its mid-range estimates and says that the BP Oil spill already leaked an estimated 527,000 barrels into the Gulf of Mexico. This level is almost twice of the oil spilled by the Exxon Valdez in 1989 which stands at 262,000 barrels. The BP Oil spill is the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

With the latest status update on the BP oil spill, President Obama announced a suspension of all application for offshore oil drilling in the Arctic and the Gulf of Mexico through the remainder of the year.

What!!!! Obama didn’t miss Memorial Day to “concentrate” on the BP Oil Leak. Obama flew down the Friday BEFORE Memorial day (3 days before the day) so he could vacation in Chicago the entire Memorial Day weekend. Give me a break! Yes, he “concentrated” an entire 3 HOURS, wheels down to wheels up, on the issue. I hope he does not wear himself out with such intense concentration.

Geezzzz, can you spin it just your bias a bit more covertly please.
